Parents Night Out

Saturday was a busy day for us--we had "Capn' Nate's" pirate party for the kiddos (which was SOoOO cute. Leigh rocked the pirate theme--to the point that her husband even built a "plank" out in the backyard for the kids to walk. Lucas loved it. ) And afterwards, we took our boys to parents night out at our church for the first time. I was pretty nervous about leaving Alex since he is still so young, but the nursery workers assured us he would be fine. So Josh and I headed to his department Christmas party. First there was a pre-party at Lloyd and Kara's place. Kara had it decorated very cute and she had the BEST drinks--I have never had a Grasshopper before and have discovered that I heart them!! (Pictured above in case you were wondering what the heck that was a photo of! You know, with two boys in the house it could have been something gruesome!) Don't worry--I only had a couple, but I could have easily chugged the whole container. I really like anything with mint, though.
Josh and Lloyd enjoyed the Eggnog--it was HEAVILY spiked of course. Next we headed to Vic and Rhonda's mansion (yes, its HUGE) for the actual party. It was very well attended--many of the department heads, none of whom I know, were in attendance. This was the first year they have held the party off campus (a HUGE improvement!) and that they served alcohol (If I'm going to attend it, I better be drinking...anesthesiologists are a fairly dry group). They were joking about making everyone sign a waiver saying the hospital was not responsible for accidents/behaviour...at least, I think it was a joke! Josh and I got all gussied up...
Look how old and fat we look. Bummer. The kids had to be picked up by 8:30, so Josh came home briefly to help me get them to bed and then he went back and partied until four am. Yes, FOUR in the morning. I don't know how he does it! I heard the night ended with my husband giving a banana bag IV to one of the party guests...which is a bit weird, but hey, they are all doctors and I guess their idea of a good time is a little different from mine (I'd rather set myself on fire than get an IV).

I think we were up blogging at the same time tonight - I made a comment earlier and then when I headed back to your post there was a new one!

Sounds like you had a fun time Saturday night - too bad you couldn't close the party down with your hubbie!

Oh - and I just came back again to say you are not fat. I thought you were looking great on Saturday - you've been dropping "baby weight" quickly!

I'm glad you liked the Grasshoppers...they are one of my favorites and no one drinks them with me. Lloyd says they are too girlie! Now I can have a grasshopper partner!
