The Pooh Outfit

I love this cute little Pooh onesie and hat--especially since it was worn by Luc's good friend when she was a baby. It's hard to believe how quickly they grow up! I have so many cute outfits for Chloe, most of them given to us by friends and family, so this blog is going to be a bit of a fashion show for a while...forgive me, but I am so excited about GIRLY outfits that I am going to go a bit crazy capturing all these moments!
Chloe is pushing up so well these days. She still isn't gaga for tummy time, but she actually has fairly decent head control. She does love her mobile on the crib. She will sit quietly and stare at it while kicking and "talking" (she is now making "ahhh" sounds regularly.) Of course, as soon as the music turns off, she starts fussing and complaining for more! Already a diva.

More pics of Chloe...

You will probably get sick of pictures of Chloe, but I just can't help myself. I have to photograph her constantly. This Halloween outfit says "I'm so cute, it's scary" and that's how I feel about her. She is adorable and I just want to snuggle her and kiss on her all the time. I don't think I felt any differently towards the first two kids, but I have more time to actually DO it this go round since I have all day with just me and Chloe. I worry I am spoiling her (I hold her pretty much all day), but all the baby books say you can't spoil a newborn...

Guess we will see about that!

Chloe's one month pictures

I have had not had to purchase very many outfits for little Chloe bear, but this was one of the few that I bought after we found out we were having a girl. It's not a very fallish look, but I didn't care. It was pink (a prerequisite after two boys) and frilly and I loved the hat. Perfect for one month pictures. As per usual, time is just flying...its almost time to take two month pics. I am amazed how much these pictures resemble Alex's one month photos.

Pumpkin Patch with the Fam

It's an annual fall tradition to take the kiddos to the pumpkin patch and this year, we went to our new favorite--Motley's. It's really a Christmas tree farm that decided to do pumpkins for extra revenue, but we have enjoyed it the last few years. Lucas particularly likes the giant hay play area they have created with tunnels and slides, while Josh and I find the pig races amusing since they are tongue in cheek funny. I actually checked out the gift shop this year too and their prices were very reasonable on fun Halloween treats. I also scored some awesome gourds and pumpkins for the front yard decorations (which I will feature later) for a dollar a piece.

Alex really wanted to play with the bigger kids in the tunnels and slides, but he was nervous about climbing in the hay and never warmed up to the texture/feel of hay under his feet versus solid ground. He did enjoy running through the tunnels.
Here is Alex at the other end of the tunnel hollering at me...I like how he is in shadow and all you see is his body shape.

This year brought the addition of a train ride...Motley's style with cows for train cars. Both kids seemed to have fun, but I nearly had a heart attack when I realized how far and LOOONG the ride was...Alex was just barely strapped in and Josh and I both were fearful that he would try to climb out. Thankfully he stayed seated and both kids came back with smiles on their faces, but note to self: watch all rides once before sending kiddos out on their own!!

Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

Lucas' class took their first field trip to the Bo Brooks Farms pumpkin patch last week and I am just now getting around to posting pics. It was a perfect day for an outdoor field trip and the kids all had a blast running through the hay maze, playing in the corn, taking a dusty hayride, and picking out a pumpkin of their very own to take home. Afterwards, they stayed at the patch for a picnic lunch. I packed a pumpkin shaped sandwich, which seemed to be a big hit.

First Bath

Chloe's cord FINALLY healed so we were able to give her a real bath...in the kitchen sink. We did this with Alex and it worked just fine, but Chloe is quite a bit bigger than Alex was at the same age, so she didn't really fit in the bucket. She was a little scared and fussy for the first few minutes, but once she settled into the warm water and realized how relaxing it was, she became very quiet. As I was snapping pictures she really focused on the camera and seemed very alert, so I got some cute shots.

See mommy, I don't really fit in this tub...
She's making her "Popeye the sailor man" face here!
Ahhh...all clean.

It's a bird...it's a plane...no--It's SUPER TIGERS!!

Just some shots of our family all dolled up in our LSU gear. My mother made these AWESOME capes for the boys as part of our "homemade/heartfelt" Christmas gifts last year and the boys love them...I have to hide them after the game so that they won't wear them constantly and tear them up. We will need our "Super Tiger" boys to bring their powers to the LSU/Arkansas tailgating festivities this year. Hmmm...Chloe doesn't have a cape. She may need one for next year (hint hint Nana). But she does have several cute LSU outfits, including the dress below (with bloomers that have the tiger stamped on the bum...too fun!)
Chloe having some daddy/daughter bonding time before the big game. Below, Lucas zooming around in his cape. "Look mom, I'm faster than Clark Kent!!!"

The Chloe Chronicles

I know, I know...it's been forever since I've updated the blog. Life has been a crazy blur these past few weeks. I never imagined I would have so much trouble adapting to having three children--everyone insists that once you have a couple you don't even notice the additional work with a third, but I would have to dispute that! I feel like suddenly everything is more complicated--trying to play referee between my two youngest (Alex loves "Chlow Eeeee!" as he calls her, but he doesn't understand she must be touched GENTLY so I have to keep them separate which is no easy task), dealing with a jealous Lucas, even keeping up with laundry and dishes (which seem to have doubled even though we only added one teeny tiny person to the mix!) So needless to say, blogging has been on the back burner...or off the stove altogether for the last month or so. I've found time to post a few comments, but no pictures, so today I am making an effort to play catch up. As for as Chloe goes, life is fairly simple...she eats, poops, sleeps (occasionally), and cries (A LOT). She is quite the spoiled stinker and wants to be held 24/7. If I put her down for any reason at all she complains very vocally!
Here she was meeting Nana for the first time. And below is her first doctors checkup. She weighed in at 8 pounds 2 ounces, so she lost a tiny bit of her birth weight, but we have since returned for her one month well baby visit and she was up to 10 pounds, 12 ounces...so no worries that she isn't thriving.
We've been attempting to do tummy time daily, and surprisingly she will tolerate it at times. She has actually rolled herself over from tummy to back a couple times already (although I chalk it up as accidental). But she doesn't always cooperate with mandated tummy time, as witnessed below. The little brat fell asleep during play time...
Speaking of sleep, that is one of her favorite activities. At five weeks she goes to the land of nod most nights between seven and eight (with holding or multiple soothing sessions from mommy and daddy) and will usually snooze until midnight, then she is up for a feeding and back down again fairly quickly. Typically she then sleeps until four or five am, when daddy gets up for work, and then she is up for another feeding. And sometimes up for the day. This is her schedule--on a GOOD night. But not every night is this pleasant. More often than not, though, she seems to be falling into this pattern, which is pretty decent for a newborn. Hopefully we can drop one of those feedings in the next month or so and we will ALL be sleeping more peacefully. Below, a shot of her napping in my bed...how she could comfortably sleep with her neck turned like that, I don't know, but she seemed content.

Spotlight on Josh

Medical news of Arkansas is a statewide newsletter for physicians, and they recently contacted Josh about featuring him in the October issue. Too cool! Here is a link to the website with the article:
