Pumpkin Patch with the Fam

It's an annual fall tradition to take the kiddos to the pumpkin patch and this year, we went to our new favorite--Motley's. It's really a Christmas tree farm that decided to do pumpkins for extra revenue, but we have enjoyed it the last few years. Lucas particularly likes the giant hay play area they have created with tunnels and slides, while Josh and I find the pig races amusing since they are tongue in cheek funny. I actually checked out the gift shop this year too and their prices were very reasonable on fun Halloween treats. I also scored some awesome gourds and pumpkins for the front yard decorations (which I will feature later) for a dollar a piece.

Alex really wanted to play with the bigger kids in the tunnels and slides, but he was nervous about climbing in the hay and never warmed up to the texture/feel of hay under his feet versus solid ground. He did enjoy running through the tunnels.
Here is Alex at the other end of the tunnel hollering at me...I like how he is in shadow and all you see is his body shape.

This year brought the addition of a train ride...Motley's style with cows for train cars. Both kids seemed to have fun, but I nearly had a heart attack when I realized how far and LOOONG the ride was...Alex was just barely strapped in and Josh and I both were fearful that he would try to climb out. Thankfully he stayed seated and both kids came back with smiles on their faces, but note to self: watch all rides once before sending kiddos out on their own!!

The boys look so grown up - especially that first picture of them together!
