Summer Fun

Lucas really enjoyed his new pool. Anything having to do with water is fun and he knows how to play "Splish splash" (which just involves hitting the water when told to play splish splash). He wasn't too fond of the hat and ended up pulling it off and trying to eat the cord.

Mad Professor Hair

Per Ashley's request, here are some updated pictures. Lucas' hair is so long that we often have fun towel drying it into shapes after his bath. In general he is getting big so fast--we measured his length today and he was 29 inches long--too long for his current car seat, so we will have to buy a new seat sometime soon. He is wearing twelve month clothes now and beginning to "cruise" from one piece of furniture to another. I am hoping he doesn't begin walking on his own for a while yet because Joshua hasn't finished painting the kitchen cabinets and once Luc starts walking he will be getting into all kind of trouble (well--more trouble than he already gets into. His poor forehead is covered in bruises from little spills he takes and we have had several bills that have been shredded/eaten. As Nana D predicted, the coffee table items have become free for alls and the plant has landed on the floor numerous times.)

Photos on the fourth

We didn't do anything special on the fourth, but I had bought a cute outfit for Lucas so we had to get some photos. He had fun playing in the grass (and eating it!)

Angel or demon??

So he looks like an angel in these photos, but our little man has turned into quite the brat. He is quickly learning to pull up on furniture (we can thank day care for that--watching those other kids do it must have inspired him) and he wants to pull up and get into everything (including such appalling things as litter boxes and dirty trash cans...not a real discriminating child). He has also had his first illness--a horrible cold (we can thank day care for that, too) and has been very crabby this week. But he has moments of true sweetness too--like just after a long nap when he is still tired he likes to snuggle on the sofa with me or Josh. We have all had trouble adjusting to day care and I imagine it will just take time.

And so it begins...

Josh started work last week so I had to take "back to school" type pictures of him on his very first day. He was pretty nervous but his first week went fairly smoothly. And Lloyd was quick to point out that they have now completed 1% of thier residency...Yep, they're having fun!

Big Boy Tub

We transitioned to the big boy tub this week and Lucas LOVES it. He has so much more room to play now and really "swims" all over the tub chasing after his duckies and frogs. (Of course, there is only about an inch of water in the tub...).
