The Pirate and the Princess

Lucas had his Halloween party at school today and he attended dressed at a Pirate. He enjoyed saying "arrgggg" all morning and jabbing me with his sword (which I took away before arriving at school). I even bought him a treasure map, but he wasn't too interested in that. All the kids were decked out--his classmates included several witches, a butterfly, batman, a lion, monkey, and elephant. My favorite was his buddy Peyton who was dressed all girly girl in a pink princess outfit. They were like two little gossips running around and giggling and chasing after each other the whole time. Overall I had fun helping with all the kids--it was a great event except I learned two things: one--halloween costumes are not very potty friendly. I had to strip the boy down in order to let him potty (not fun in a public restroom) and two--you can't let kids trick or treat and then expect them not to eat any of the candy (that's what their teacher tried to do. "A" for effort there Miss Coco, but seriously, it's halloween already. Let them eat cake. Or candy in this case!)
