Alex started solid foods a few weeks ago--we began with the traditional rice cereal and then progressed to veggies. He has done okay so far--typically he does not enjoy the green veggies at all. Like most children, he seems to have been born with the gene that enables them to know you are trying to pull a fast one and get them to eat something healthy. He spits them out with glee. Tonight Josh pulled a sneaky chef move and mixed the peas with applesauce and Alex liked that just fine. So we are going to introduce other fruits this week. Soon it will be on to the meats (yucko--they smell like potted poop--no wonder kids don't want to eat them!)On the Lucas front he is cuter and sassier than ever. He now holds regular phone conversations with Josh and I (whichever parent is at work gets the phone calls) but he told me this morning he was "too busy and I call daddy later." He also has developed an intense passion for the TV show Blue's Clue's. I don't mind him enjoying the show (as long as I am not expected to follow the story line--it tends to put me into a drooling coma) but he is extremely BOSSY about his Clues. He begins demanding it the moment he rolls out of bed and has thrown several tantrums when I don't give in (I don't always let him watch TV in the morning--sometimes I actually want to spend quality time with him minus the tube and he seems to have a real problem with that!) Not attractive traits, but I mention them here so that I remember what a little beast he could be if he didn't get his Steve fix for the day. I imagine one day he will deny this fact.
