Six Sexy Vamps

Gearing up for New Moon has me with vampires on the mind...and who better to think about than the Black Dagger Brotherhood, probably the best Vampire romance series ever to be penned. I've read close to a thousand books in my lifetime--NO lie. At one point in my life I would read sometimes two books a day. I've slowed down a bit (life has dictated that I HAVE to!) but I still read several books a week, so I've read a variety of things. I'm extremely picky about what I like, and you have to read a lot o'crap to find the good stuff. JR Ward's brotherhood series is the BEST stuff. I actually picked one of the stories up several years ago in an airport to distract myself from my intense terror of flying--and then got so wrapped up in the story I didn't even notice the plane take off. I made the mistake of reading the books out of order, so by the time I realized there were more stories to tell, I got the bonus of not having to wait for months for those tales to come out. I gobbled them up. Some I love, some I just thought were good. This author has a very different take on vampires--they are not the "living dead" like most fanged tales--they are actually a different species that must feed on blood and is allergic to the sun. But they have hearts and they can be killed. And they have fabulous mating rituals (wink!) Anyway--I now regularly visit Ward's websites (She's a genius who has set up a message board where you can actually TALK to the Brothers and they are a HOOT! This of course creates even more crazed fan followers. ) Two fangs up for the Brotherhood. My favs are Zadist, Rehvenge, and Rhage (those are their vampire names).
