And the verdict is...

Just a quick update--saw the New Moon movie and I am relieved to say I enjoyed it MUCH more than the first movie. It could possibly be because this was my least favorite book out of the four and I had less issues with any deviations the writers took from the actual storyline. I felt overall they stayed more true to the book, the directing was a million times less choppy, and the acting was (mostly) better. There are still a few over dramatic Edward scenes that made me cringe...but thankfully he is not nearly as prevalent in this film. I love Edward in the books, but I do not like the actor portraying him in the movies and I think that colors my whole perception of his character. On the flip side, I LOVED the wolves--they looked awesome and they stole every scene they were in...except the ones that featured Jacob topless. Even the music seemed to meld with the movie this time. I'm just sad now that I have to wait another half year to see Eclipse, and who knows if they will even make Breaking Dawn. But I imagine they will since the movie is now a money making machine.

On another note, Alex said "cat" and "meow" today all by himself. (He normally mimics words, but today he was chasing the cat and said both words without any prompting from me). And he woke up in the middle of the night chanting "daddy--BABA" until we went in to check on him. So clearly he is beginning to do more than just parrot the sounds he hears--he is linking the word to the person/item. Yee-haw for therapy.

There were very few men with shirts on during new moon. That alone was well worth the movie theater pricing!

Sad that you don't like Edward (the actor portraying him). I really like him. But of course he fits into my "top five" list quite nicely. Tall, thin, nerdy, quiet -sound familiar??? At least Disco has no doubt I find him (and Colin Firth, and Patrick Dempsey, and Andrew McCarthy) attractive. I may have to boot Judd Nelson (my 80's bad boy)from my top 5 list for Robert Pattinson. Wild card Seth Green stays. :)

So great that Alex is talking - soon you won't be able to get a word in the conversation!

It is amazing to me how these little people just all of a sudden start talking. BabyP has been very much like that. He turned 18 months and BAM, he is talking my ear off.
