Lucas has been in a new class at school for several months now, and I genuinely like his teacher--she focuses on education and I can tell a HUGE difference because Luc comes home talking about ALL kinds of things we have not taught him. I should never COMPLAIN about this...but she has taught them one thing that I rather wish she hadn't.
This past week Lucas started saying he needed to "urinate" and instead of using the potty, it is "urinal". It was cute the first few times he said it--he sounded so grown up and professional. But after a while it has ceased to be so endearing--I miss my little boy saying "I need go potty mommy!" Now if anyone says the word potty (which frankly has become a focal word in our vocabulary over the past three years), even innocently--like I myself need to use the restroom and accidentally call it the p-word, Lucas gets indignant and screams--"It's URINATE!! URINATION!!" Which is just a little too clinical sounding for me. And downright creepy (try peeing while your child chants "URINATE! URINATE!" in the background. Really, it's difficult to not laugh yourself right off the toilet--oh wait, URINAL.)
Is it sad that my child has become the Potty Nazi and I am disappointed in this?

I don't think it is sad that you feel that way.......and I suspect that he will "get over" his obsession with his new word since his other (non day care) friends won't have a clue what he is talkng about!!! But oh they do grow up SO fast. (sigh)
URINAL! URINAL! (couldn't resist!)
