2 Cool 4 School

It has begun: Lucas now understands that weekends are for FUN and hanging with the family, and weekdays are for working and school. Each day he wakes up and asks "I not go to school today mommy?" and when I say yes he gets a little disappointed. He knows his weekdays (and sings a cute song to keep them straight) and gets very excited when Saturday and Sunday are approaching. This past weekend I had to work, but it was BEAUTIFUL outside so we hit the zoo with my parents on Saturday morning. Lucas had a great time and the sun finally made an appearance about halfway through our trip. I think my father even got into seeing all the animals (although he would never admit it!) One of Luc's favorite parts of the zoo is the "Echo Cave" as he calls it. It's just a giant cement dome (not really sure WHAT the zoo built it for...) but when you walk under it and hoop and holler you get a great echoing effect. Lucas can stand under it forever and clap his hands and listen to himself. What a little narcissist he is!

I forgot to tell you that he spent most of Sunday morning outside with PawPaw, who was working in the yard....with a lot of help from Lucas!!

Love the shades!

We have the same problem with schooldays vs weekends. Although she likes to add a little drama and cling to my leg crying "i want you" most days. Love that working mom guilt!
