Two month sweetheart

Alex's two month checkup was today--he is now weighing in at 12 pounds, 6 ounces and he is 22 1/2 inches long. Overall the doctor felt he looked pretty good. He is much more alert these days and he has begun smiling more frequently (caught a little half smile in the photo above). We have also established a nice bedtime pattern that I like to call the Four B's pattern--bottle, bath, book, and then bed. I usually start to get both kids ready for bed around six thirty or seven--Lucas likes to "help" give Alex his bath (usually involves Lucas shoving ducks in Alex's face or trying to spike Alex's hair) and Alex has taken to this routine pretty well. Most nights he will sleep anywhere from four to six hours before waking up for another bottle. After that, well, some nights he will go back to sleep--others he is up and ready to party despite his sleepy mommy's protests. Hopefully he will get into a better sleeping groove in the next few weeks and we can possibly drop out a feeding--no way can I go back to work without getting better rest at night!
Love the mohawk! We did this with Lucas and I'm happy to see Alex's hair does the same spikey trick. Scott said we should die it purple and gold for the first LSU game....don't know about that!
This last picture cracks me up--Alex looks like he is trying to say "Why are you taking pictures of me??" Cuz you are such a cutie!!
