In honor of Earth Day we did a little much needed yard work. While Alex napped, Josh and Jeffrey mowed, weeded, snipped, and recycled. I sat in a chair and observed...after all, I'm growing a human--that's all the work I can contribute these days. Lucas took the opportunity to dig in the dirt and find a bucket full of earth worms.

He is smiling in this picture, but he was mad when I told him he had to put the worms back in the dirt...he wanted to bring them inside and make a little nest for them. I can tolerate a lot of things from my boys...but befriending wiggly worms and expecting me to clean them and feed them is too much. Thankfully he was comforted by the fact that he could visit them in the yard whenever he gets the urge.

we had fun with some wiggly worms recently too. big sis thought they were great. little man was a bit concerned and was curious but really didn't want to get anywhere near the actual worms. must be an age thing b/c i can't believe his actually going to end up scared of worms.
not suprisingly the worms ended up in the "hop" garden
