Helping Hands

We have been using every spare (sunny) moment lately to work in our yard--I an determined that our backyard will be toddler friendly this summer. A few weeks ago my mother came up and helped me do a lot of work, and for the last few days Josh, Lucas, and I have all done little projects here and there. Lucas LOVES to "help" which is great and disasterous at the same time. His favorite yard work activity is "splaying" the plants--he thinks using the hose is awesome, he just has trouble AIMING at the plants, so pretty much everything gets a good hosing down when Lucas is doing the "splaying" (that includes the yard, the dogs, anyone standing near by, and of course, Lucas himself). I bought him Diego gardening gloves which he dubbed his "sticky gloves" (it's a Diego thing) and here are some pictures of him helping Josh bring mulch into the yard. We had to humor him and let him think he could lift bags of mulch (Josh was mostly doing the lifting) since he wanted to participate so badly.
