On our road trip to the beach we made a pit stop at the Hattiesburg Zoo. I wasn't expecting much since the admission fee was only two dollars, but I have to say the zoo ROCKED! The landscaping was awesome--tons of beautiful flowers and bamboo. It was nice and shady throughout the park so the blistering heat only got to us periodically, and the animals were all eagar to come out and say hello. Lucas had a blast chasing the peacocks (they just roam all over the zoo--pretty sweet!) and he got to take his very first train ride, which he was timid about at first, but he quickly started to enjoy the breeze and had fun making "choo choo" noises. I've put some of my favorite shots above--the butterflies were EVERYWHERE and loved to pose for you, Lucas chased a momma and baby peacock, and the jaguar came right up to the fence to see us. He was beautiful and had an awesome habitat.
