As my friend Ashley pointed out--it has been a while since I've posted. We have been keeping busy--last weekend Josh and I had a wedding in Memphis and spent our first weekend away from Lucas. He had a blast being watched by his Nana D and Paw Paw and I think he wore them out! He was so cute saying Paw Paw for several days after they left. He also got a haircut on Sunday afternoon and I think it is way too short--he just looks so different with the military cut. I will probably let it get very shaggy again before the next cut.Today was Mother's Day and we celebrated by going to Pinnacle Mountain. We didn't try to climb the actual mountain (maybe when we are all in better shape!) but we played in the park and walked the Kingfisher trail where we had tons of fun photo ops. Lucas had a blast chasing salamanders, pointing at birds, and running everywhere. I also got a fabulous homemade Mother's Day card that Lucas made at daycare--it had his foot and handprints, a picture of him, and a cute little poem:
I give you my foot
I give you my hand
To guide me thru life's wiggles and demands
I may falter or stumble as I continue to grow
But with you by my side I'll always know
Your love is not far away.
Happy Mother's Day.
It was very sweet of the daycare to make these for all the mothers (my day care dollars hard at work!) I will scrap it and cherish it always. To top the evening off we had a Survivor Finale watch at our house and Scott, Jen, and JG joined us. Overall it was a very pleasant day for me and I got lots of great new pictures.
