Christmas Catch Up

As per usual, I am behind in my blogging. I've still got to catch up on Christmas, our New Years trip to New Orleans, and my resolutions. So I'll start today with snippets of our holiday adventures. We had my family over for the Christmas day festivities, and the following weekend Josh's family came up. Lucas was really at the perfect age for Christmas this year--he was too excited to fall asleep Christmas Eve (bouncing out of bed multiple times) and woke up WAAAAY too early Christmas morning (even roosters would have been crabby about it!). Here is elf Alex playing with his toys from Santa (his Christmas jammies got soaked so we had to improvise): Here he was Christmas Day...he looks like a Cossack, no?
Here was our Christmas day dessert spread. We had a fun baking night on Wednesday before Christmas, with everyone making something. I loved it all (fudge, pretzel sticks, sugar cookies, chocolate chip, wassil, snack mixes, sausage balls, dips...yum) but my favorite this year was the magic bars. Scott makes them and they are DIVINE. I think I ate the entire tin of them by myself!
Here the boys were being super silly Christmas Eve. They were too wired to go to bed. But Josh read the annual Cajun Night Before Christmas for us all and that calmed them down (marginally).
And of course we had to leave milk and cookies for Santa. Lucas felt the urge to test everything himself. Surely Santa won't mind...
We received wonderful presents Christmas morning. Our "homemade/heartfelt" gifts were a great hit, and hopefully a tradition we will continue each year now. We had my favorite--creamed eggs for Christmas breakfast, and later we were joined by Sharon and Jeffrey for Christmas day lunch. Afterwards we played the Wii (my Christmas present to the boys) and board games until we were all exhausted. Overall, a very pleasant Christmas Day!

love the pics of the boys - and they both smiled at the same time and looked like they loved each other in one pic. crazy!

I have a 2009 Christmas movie to create with snippetts of family fun. Putting it on my to do list for July . . . so you are in good company with the catching up process. :)
