RSV for Christmas

It wasn't on our list, but apparently we've been naughty because Alex has RSV. And a double ear infection. Poor tyke looks like shit--goopy, blood-shot eyes, running nose, purple rings under his eyes. He's been running a temp for a couple days. At first we thought it was more teething, then we knew it had progressed to something more, but we were holding out for cold. Then last night Josh finally looked in his ears and saw the infections. So we scheduled an appointment for today and got the RSV confirmed with a swab. As that is HIGHLY contagious (and he must have picked it up at daycare since we don't know anyone else with the virus) he must stay home from school for the next five days. That was a fun edict considering this is the busiest time of the year at work for me. Ahhh...tis the season! If anyone needs last minute gift ideas for Josh and I--a mommy/daddy weekend away sometime in the near future sounds like bliss after all this chaos!!

call my mom if you need her.
She is with my kids tomorrow, but might be available Thursday or Friday.

Poor alex, mommy, and daddy!!!!! I was thinking about texting you tonight anyway to check in - sorry to hear it is such a mess right now.

We are around all week. If you need help weds night or fri night let us know.

But a bit of warning - little man has a tummy bug. Not sure if you need that thrown into the mix too. Although my personal philosophy with this second kiddo is that there is no way to stop the billions of germs at daycare so bring it on! And apparently someone has been listening b/c we are sick every other week!!!!

how is alex doing now? it's funny, i met chili's mom today at lenscrafters in park plaza...she said he had been out for a few days with him cause he had a fever, runny nose, cough.

she knew alex was out but was not sure what rsv was. i asked if she had taken chili to the doc and she said not yet...i recommended she go that day or go to the er, just to be on the safe side.

talk to you soon-
