May adventures

I get so far behind in my posts that I've decided to just make one MASSIVE post about all our great adventures this month. I can NOT believe that the school year ends this Friday for Lucas. Pre-K has FLOWN by and it makes me a bit sad. Our last field trip of the year was to Mrs. Henry's family farm in Conway. The kids all had a blast. His class made t-shirts with cows on them and each child was given a cowboy hat for the big day. The kids got to pet horses, cows, and donkeys, see a live catfish, ride the tractor and have a picnic lunch. Lucas liked everything except when the tagged the cow's ear--she started bleeding and he said it made him sad. Here he is with his friends Anders, Preston and Nicco.
I'm a farmer mom!!! Yee-haw!!
Lucas and Preston again, hamming it up.
Getting to pet the horses...this one was only a year old. The farmer told us he had no idea the mother was pregnant until he showed up at the farm and this beautiful colt was standing there. They named him Good Friday, because that's the day he arrived.
Of course, it wouldn't be a farm trip without some hay! LOTS of hay.

And all the little cows from Mrs. Engskov and Mrs. Henry's class:
Next we have some cute pictures of Chloe...she is getting SO big and FAST! She crawls everywhere and has begun pulling herself up some, but still very unsteady on her feet. We had to drop her crib down because she was trying to pull up in it. She is now eating some solids--mashed up banana, avocado, and baby puffs. She loves it! She feeds herself very well with finger foods and she has been holding her own bottle for a while now. She is very interested in the spoon, but can't coordinate movements from the bowl to her mouth yet, although I let her practice and it always makes for a funny messy face.

For Mother's Day weekend I had a nice treat--I got a massage at the spa, an afternoon to shop by myself, and some wonderful chocolate covered strawberries from Shari's berries. I LOVED it all! Here's a quick picture of me and the kiddos. No one wanted to cooperate for the shot, but I rarely step out from behind the camera, so I figured I better post it!

My strawberries:
We also had Scott's birthday to celebrate this month...he turned 35. Oh, wait, that's me. Anyway, Jenn and I got him this yummy Saint's themed cake.
It wouldn't be a Scott celebration without the obligatory cheesy photo ;)
Finally, Scott's company, ATC, had their annual picnic and we took the kiddos for some outdoor fun. Lucas loved the jumper (you can just spy him poking his head out the doorway).

The company cake:
May has been filled with birthday parties and school events, and it isn't over yet. I have realized I simply cannot document EVERYTHING we do, so sometimes I leave the camera at home. I think this is better for my sanity ;)
