bienvenido a Miami

Ahhhh...Miami. For our annual conference at work we got to fly out to Miami for a couple days. I'd love to tell you all about how we flew in and saw this exotic paradise on the way to our hotel. About how after the conference the first night they loaded us all on buses and we drove to beautiful Southbeach where we visited the cutest little salsa bar called Enrique's. About how the music was amazing, the drinks (free) and oh so tasty and they even had dancers (topless HOT Spanish dancers!!) who would teach you to salsa dance. About how we partied ALL night and just when I thought it couldn't get any better, Will Smith busted in and started singing "Welcome to Miami".
I'd love to tell you all of that--but reality is much...LESS. I was so excited to see Miami, and the truth is that I saw it from the plane (picture featured below) and upon landing was immediately whisked to the hotel, where I stayed for two days and was then taken back to the airport. No lie. I got a little bit of a view of the city from my hotel window (also featured below). So if asked, I would have to say that I have still never been to Miami. Except in my dreams, where Will and I do things I'm not at liberty to discuss on my PG-13 blog.
Here is the Charlotte crew (in Miami...don't you love the beauty of the city??)
My view of Southbeach...from the airplane.
And the view from my hotel room. It is almost cruel to look at these pictures...I was so close, yet so far away!
Onto less depressing news, I came home to find my boys had missed me and we had fun chilling in the pool. Alex still enjoys splashing in the water and Lucas is a FISH. I really considered signing him up for more swim lessons this summer, but then we went to the local water park again the other day and I was shocked to discover that he was swimming on his own. I guess our first round of lessons and all the exposure to water this summer has really helped him along. I still wouldn't trust him around water without an adult--but if you put him in a body of water he will go under and swim several feet by himself. So thanks buddy for saving mommy the expense of lessons!
