Color Monster

So I have created a monster. I wanted to give Lucas a creative outlet, so I showed him how to use his crayons. And he absolutely loves them--but more importantly he wants to sit at HIS table and use HIS colors every minute of every day. If he is awake, he is playing at his table or running off with his bucket of colors. I tried to keep him from coloring the actual table since I had plans to paint it white this spring, but he doesn't quite understand that he is supposed to stay on the page. So I guess I am okay with the table becoming a work of art--just as long as it ends with the table, not the wall, floor, or cat (all of which he has tried to color on--I think I need eyes in the back of my head...wonder if they have successfully completed that operation yet?) Hard to believe Lucas has been home sick the past three weeks--Herpangina, Rotavirus, and Herpes Simplex One all in the last three weeks. He scared me for a few days because he has become so needy, but that is easy to understand given how very sick he has been. I am just so happy to see smiles again!
