So grown up

After taking this picture I couldn't believe how grown up Lucas looks. He had his fifteen month checkup today and weighed in at 24 pounds and was 33 inches tall. The doctor was amazed at how well behaved he was (I didn't tell him it was only a fluke) and Lucas only cried for a minute when he got his shot.
His newest words are head, ear, ball, and shoes (which comes out with a lot of spit--he seems to think any "shh" sound should involve spitting.) He can point to his head, nose, ears and feet, although he is more likely to point to YOUR nose than his own. He knows dogs say "off off" and cats say "yaaaaw" and he loves to follow the cats around and try to catch them (he giggles the whole time). He is becoming more cautious around the dogs--several times they have knocked him down during their tussles and he has gotten scared. So he likes them best when they are in the backyard and he can look out at them and bark. One afternoon I caught him on all fours pretending to eat out of the dog bowl--he got up before I could get the camera, but it was too cute. I bought him a little table and chair of his own to go at the end of the bar in our kitchen and he LOVES sitting there while I cook dinner and working on his puzzles (banging them around, really) and reading/eating his new flash cards. This weekend Josh and I took him to see children's musician Brian Kinder and he had fun--he kept running to the front and trying to stand next to Mr. Kinder and touch the stuffed animals. He certainly isn't shy!
